Astute Captures and Creates Enduring Materials for Heart Rhythm Society's 31st Annual Scientific Sessions

RESTON, VA, May 15, 2010 – Astute leveraged its latest technology to provide capture and e-commerce integration for the Heart Rhythm Society's 31st Annual Scientific Sessions, held on May 12-15, 2010. Astute's patented Conference.CAST technology was used to capture of over 380 hours of meeting content in full-motion video and synchronized slides and audio, which was then combined into a comprehensive digital library product Heart Rhythm 2010 and distributed to users via Astute's state-of-the-art media player in both online and DVD format.

As a part of this initiative, Astute has made several exciting upgrades to the media player, including advanced search and filtering capabilities over a wide variety of parameters, and access to MP3s and PDF slides per presentation directly in the player. Astute also worked to successfully integrate Astute's media player with a 3rd party e-commerce system, a capability which can be applied to upcoming projects in order to allow a more seamless user experience in the transition from purchase to consumption of content when a client does not need Astute's e-commerce platform.

For this project, the Astute player was customized to accommodate the Heart Rhythm Society's decision to provide selective CME credit by the addition of a new icon to designate associated CME for a session. The entire continuing education experience is interactive and personalized; users can immediately see which sessions they have viewed in the player and continue the process of claiming CME credit at the click of a button.
